This paper looks at the midterm review of the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), which the European Commission wants to use as a platform to reform the MFF itself, and make it more responsive to changing environments or new crises. The desired post-2020 changes include modernizing the EU budget, changing the duration of the next MFF, creating a budget for the Eurozone, reforming the EU’s financial system or introducing an EU tax, and much more.
