This report presents the findings of field research, undertaken throughout Bangladesh between September and December 2007, into human security, community safety and armed violence. It identifies eight categories of human security in Bangladesh, four of these largely concerned with the "freedom from want," the others with "freedom from fear." The report concludes that Bangladesh has experienced a significant improvement in human security and a drop in politically related insecurity.
