This paper examines the relationship between the future of nuclear power in helping meet the world's energy demand and proliferation. The author presents a brief outlook of the prospects of using nuclear power and the nonproliferation implications and states that is important to increase use of nuclear power under terms that are fully supportive of the achievement of nonproliferation objectives. It further gives a series of recommendations considering nuclear power as an important option to help resolving the global energy demand while contributing to energy security.
