In this publication, Timo Smit, Sacks Ferrari and Jaïr van der Lijn provide a snapshot of multilateral peace operations in 2019, with statistics on personnel, country contributions, and fatalities for operations conducted by the UN, regional organizations or alliances, and ad hoc coalitions of states. The authors note that the downward trends associated with multilateral peace operations continued in 2019, including in the number of personal, which decreased by 4.8 percent over the year.
