This paper examines the security risks posed by climate change and what policy measures should be adopted in response. While exploring this theme, the text’s authors 1) look at the climate-induced risks linked to water and food security, rising sea levels and coastal erosion, an uptick in extreme weather events, climate-related migration, and violent conflict; 2) examine how specific organizations have already integrated climate-related security risks into their policies and practical work; and 3) suggest ways that policymakers can craft more integrated and effective approaches to the security problems being created by climate change.
