This paper explains how the election of Donald Trump could improve the strategic relationship between the US and Israel. For that to happen, however, both countries will first have to reestablish their trust in each other. Then they should focus their attention on four strategic issues that matter both to Washington and Tel Aviv – 1) the role of US leadership in the Middle East; 2) the threat which Iran may pose to Israel; 3) the civil war in Syria; and 4) the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
