In the wake of a sobering report by the UN‘s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAOs), this commentary looks at how Asian governments should respond to the growing cracks in their agriculture sectors. Rapid urbanization and declining rural populations are making the region increasingly vulnerable to the problems highlighted by the FAO report. In response, the text’s authors suggest a three-step action plan that will boost crop yields and harness the untapped farming potential of urban areas.
