The three articles in this issue of the CAD focus on 1) the informal trade between the Caucasus region and China since the early 1990s; 2) the role Juhuro entrepreneurs have played in shaping trade networks in Eurasia; and 3) how local trade interacts with in-place institutions, as illustrated by the hazelnut traffic that occurs across the de facto border between Abkhazia and the Zugdidi municipal region of Georgia.
