The four articles in this edition of the CTC Sentinel focus on 1) the threat posed by the so-called Islamic State (IS) to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia; 2) the motivations that led women to travel to the territory formally controlled by IS; 3) pro-IS instructional material distributed on the online messaging application Telegram; and 4) German foreign terrorist fighters who jointed al-Shabaab in Somalia.
