This report examines how contemporary law enforcement agencies could use smart CCTV technology with enhanced analytical abilities to bolster security in increasingly complex urban environments. More specifically, the text´s author focuses on 1) the primary ways that smart CCTV technology can improve law enforcement capabilities; 2) operational concerns linked to technology associated with the potential exposure to cyberattacks as well as adaptive criminal and terrorist forces; and 3) how to mitigate risks associated with urban CCTV usage through public-private partnerships.
