In order to assess the possible future of Iraq, this paper examines its internal political, cultural and religious dynamics. More specifically, it looks at 1) the current sectarian conflicts in the country; 2) the developments that have politically united Iraqi citizens; and 3) the regional actors and geopolitical dynamics that often aggravate Iraq’s internal relations.
