This report, which comes in the wake of the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit, provides a variety of insights from scholars and practitioners on Asia-centered humanitarian reforms. The topics covered include 1) the perceived gaps and opportunities in ASEAN’s humanitarian efforts; 2) disaster relief networks and their design; 3) protecting civilians within the context of disaster planning and response; 4) promoting a uniquely ASEAN approach to disaster management; and 5) developing an Asia-Pacific strategy for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
