This brief article contends that once the Syrian government recaptures Aleppo, it’s likely that Russia and Iran will put pressure on the Assad regime to accept a ceasefire and a peace settlement. The text further discusses whether such an eventuality could be considered a victory for the Syrian government and what roles the West, Russia and Iran may play in any peace process.
