Arab Insight’s summer 2008 issue focuses on emerging financial and economic trends in the Middle East and North Africa and explores the role of conspiracy theories in Arab societies. Some of the articles in part one discuss Gulf countries and the obstacles they face when attempting to investment their recently earned funds in the US, Arab perspectives of China’s ingress into the Middle East, and common misconceptions of Islamic banking. Articles in part two examine the foundations of conspiracy theories in Arab societies and their role in Arab schools, media and religious institutions.
