This brief summarizes the main observations and arguments presented in a study undertaken by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) for the European Commission. The study argues that globalization is much more an opportunity for added growth than a social menace. Yet, according to the authors, the benefits of globalization cannot just be assumed to happen, and with an increased pace of change, it is inevitable that there will be losers as well as winners. The authors also argue that the European social model is not doomed.
