This issue discusses the present state and future development of China, with topics ranging from China's military and economic power to the internal challenges and contradictions that may undermine it. In the first section, the future of China is discussed from the perspective of various authors. Subsequent articles deal with Chinese nationalism, domestic energy policy, energy security and UN policy and social unrest in China.
