This policy report describes Singapore’s proactive pursuit of cyber security, which is motivated by the country’s dependence on advanced ICT, the spreading Internet-of-Things, and a small, aging population that lacks “critical mass.” In order to manage these developments effectively, the island nation established a Smart Nation Initiative in late 2014, created a Cyber Security Agency in April 2915, and published a cyber-security strategy in October 2016. As the report confirms, however, there’s still more to be done.
