This brief discusses the severity of the financial meltdown of autumn 2008 as well as the effects for international sovereign wealth funds. It reviews the losses of these wealth funds and points to their changing investment policies that turn away from the US and Europe. The author argues that India's banks are in a healthy position and enjoy a sovereign guarantee due to state ownership.
