This paper examines the recent development of the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) and its impact on Malaysia's complex plural and sectarian landscape and politics. It analyzes how HINDRAF managed to carve a space for Malaysia's Hindu majority while also forging links with the Hindu community worldwide. The author ends with some observations on HINDRAF's impact on the election results of March 2008.
