This publication discusses to what extent the fortunes of Singapore are bound up with the security and destiny of the Indian Ocean. It particularly examines Singapore's interests in and strategy toward the Indian Ocean as well as the country's maritime partnerships there. The author concludes that the stability of the Indian Ocean remains vital to Singapore from a geoeconomic standpoint.
