This bulletin summarizes discussions on the US and the ASEAN bloc hosted by the East-West Center on 26 October 2007. It touches on the US' engagement with ASEAN, ASEAN's relations with Burma/Myanmar, and the economic as well as politico-security dimensions of ASEAN. Because of rising anti-trade sentiments in ASEAN, the bulletin predicts that US-ASEAN relations may be adversely affected in the future.
