This paper looks at Russia's conduct in the post-Soviet space in general and its policies toward Central Asia in particular. The author claims that Russia's increasingly muscular policies in its immediate neighborhood as well as its continuing standoff with the West, particularly with the US, have the potential to unsettle the Central Asian region.
