This brief speculates on the possible content of a Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) between the UK and the EU, which would be based on the White Paper the British government released on 2 February 2017. On the basis of this paper, which advocates a strategic partnership rather than association with the EU, the brief’s author outlines the possible structure a CFTA could assume, while also comparing it with Brussels’ CETA with Canada and DCFTA with Ukraine and others.
