This paper addresses the usage of the internet and social media tools by Muslim extremists in Southeast Asia. It looks at the changing pattern of their internet usage, identifies limitations to the extremists' websites and reviews the role of YouTube and other social networking systems. The author argues that failure to develop strategies to address the extremists' social networking sites can lead to problems since they shift to the latest technologies.
