This policy brief assesses Thailand's protest culture in light of the recent protests in October-November 2008. The author argues the practice of protest was first established in 1932 and continues to date. By protesting demonstrators seek to maintain their rights in Thai civil-military relations. The protest culture makes political change possible by way of civil disobedience.
