This paper reviews the outcome of December 2008 legislative elections in the Indian regions of Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Rajasthan. It illuminates the backgrounds of the elections and outlines their course and results in the respective regions. The author argues that the outcome of the elections indicates that the voters in the world's largest democracy are becoming increasingly mature.
