Nations around the world are looking to restrict the proliferation of fake news, and thereby insulate their people from its destabilizing effects. But is the state the best entity to combat this particular scourge? The authors of this commentary have their doubts. In fact, they believe it’s time to pursue more reliable public-private initiatives.
