This brief discusses the security consequences of the 2008-2009 Gaza conflict for the stability of Southeast Asia. The author explains that while regional governments have to balance domestic agenda with foreign policy, Islamists appear to have gained most on both political and ideological fronts. In this context, the brief focuses primarily on the Indonesian Jemaah Islamiyah movement.
