This policy brief assesses EU efforts to reform pension funds. The author explains that since World War II, every successive generation could look forward to a longer retirement period than the previous one. He then discusses the policies and options of different member-states to address this challenge. The paper concludes that radical pension reforms are possible and states Sweden as the most notable example.
