This book explores developments in China's security portfolio. It reflects on the expanding international presence of the People's Liberation Army, focusing particularly on the Chinese Navy's participation in the UN anti-piracy task force in the Gulf of Aden. It also examines the evolution of cross-Strait relations following Ma Ying-jeou’s victory in Taiwan. Other articles discuss China’s legal views on space use, China’s push for a global no-first-use nuclear regime, Beijing’s motivations in Myanmar, and offer an outlook on China’s solar energy policies.
