This paper examines some of India's key foreign policy concerns and their likely impact on its 15th general elections in April and May 2009. It discusses the likely impact of terrorism, the India-US nuclear deal and the general foreign policy situation. The author concludes that foreign policy will take a backseat in the elections, since issues of economic development, poverty and security are likely to dominate the campaign.
