This paper examines China's military modernization efforts, particularly its maritime ambitions and plans to acquire a fleet of aircraft carriers. The author argues that China's acquisition of aircraft carriers is likely to tilt the balance of power in the Asia-Pacific, fundamentally challenging US supremacy.
