This issue of the Canadian Military Journal (CMJ) contains the second of two parts that discuss the core ideas and restructuring mechanisms surrounding the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces into a single force. It also highlights the importance of establishing essential responsibilities for operational principles in military doctrine, the use of force by UN peacekeepers and the importance of cultural intelligence for operational success. The issue also assesses the Canadian military justice system and the impact of crimes committed by forces against civilian populations during peacekeeping and other operations.
