This issue of the Canadian Military Journal (CMJ) addresses naval operations in Southwest Asia before moving to three chapters on military history involving the role of women in World War II, the contribution and strategy used by Canadian forces during the battle of Passchendaele of World War I and a discussion of Canada's contribution to the Boer War. This issue also assesses whether the global war on terror can be understood as a total war and the status of terrorism as an international crime. This issue concludes with a chapter on the efficacy of the Responsibility to Protect and the first of two parts on the unification process of Canada's armed forces into a single entity.
