This brief examines Pakistan's security paradigm, particularly the centrality of the Indian threat and the rise of the Taliban. The author argues that Pakistani elites need to wake up to the existential threat posed by extremism, as well as taking a more realistic, measured and contextually accurate view of the relationship with India.
