This paper focuses on China’s “One Belt, One Road” (OBOR) initiative, which aims to create huge infrastructure links with Europe and beyond. More specifically, the author zeros in on 1) Xi Jinping’s apparent plans for the initiative; 2) how the ‘road’ will be built, what routes it will cover, and who will bear the construction costs; and 3) the wariness which China’s neighbors feel toward what they believe is a geopolitical scheme.
