The articles in this CTTA issue focus on the possibility of terrorists acquiring or developing chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) weapons. The texts specifically cover 1) the prospects of the so-called Islamic State carrying out a CBRN attack; 2) the probability of North Korea selling or supplying nuclear materials to terrorist groups; 3) the seeming inability of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) and other regimes to prevent nuclear materials from falling into the hands of terrorists; and 4) the public health measures that are needed to mitigate the consequences of a bioterrorism attack.
