The author of this paper predicts that President-elect Donald Trump will undermine the hard-earned trust the US has earned as a reliable partner in the multinational fight against global warning. Given this probability, the author concludes that Germany and the EU should develop a comprehensive climate diplomacy strategy that will deal with the US’ turnaround in policy.
