While some skeptics have criticized the G20’s 2016 Hangzhou Summit for failing to deliver substantive results, this text’s author begs to differ. She believes two obvious positives resulted from the event – 1) the forum’s members renewed their commitments to promote sustainable development and tackle climate change, and 2) the unprecedented number of bilateral talks that occurred could lead to potential collaborations in multiple areas. In light of these seeming achievements, the author asserts that G20 Summits can indeed serve as powerful problem-solving platforms.
