This paper argues that in order to deal with contemporary offshore operations and crises more effectively, Australia’s government departments and agencies need to establish a higher level of interconnectedness between each other. For a “joined-up government,” it’s also important to have adaptable people, capture the lessons learned from recent experiences, etc.
