Over the last three decades, China has evolved from a skeptic of peacekeeping to a champion of UN peacekeeping. In light of this evolution, the text’s author examines 1) China’s changing attitude towards and growing contributions to UN peacekeeping; 2) the reasons and motivations for this change; 3) the development of UN peacekeeping and how China reacted to these innovations, and 4) how China’s peacekeeping footprint could evolve in the future.
