Africa has become the focus of global peace operations and, by extension, the main arena for new peace-centered developments and approaches. In response to this trend, this report 1) examines the differing perceptions of Africa’s future security environment and what role peace operations might play in it; 2) traces the shifting peace operations requirements that exist on the continent; and 3) outlines needed adjustments that must be made to improve future collaboration, coordination and inclusivity between African and external actors.
