Should Germany become more involved in UN peacekeeping operations? This publication argues that it should and here explains how four reasons why relate to 1) the urgent needs of UN peacekeeping missions; 2) how UN peacekeeping operations are being rediscovered as effective crisis management tools by European nations; 3) calls within Germany for the country to take on greater responsibility in global affairs; and 4) Germany’s aims to secure a seat on the UN Security Council.
