The articles in this issue of the SSQ address 1) how the Trump administration’s 2018 US National Defense Strategy represents more continuity than change with regards to how it fits in with the post-Cold War strategic tradition; 2) nine implications of the Trump administration’s Nuclear Posture Review, particularly with regard to deterrence; 3) how decision makers can assess attribution problems —regarding activities including cyberattacks, disinformation, assassinations and more— and understand how to utilize attribution decisions to their advantage; 4) how the Trump administration has been characterized more by continuity than change in terms of military force decisions; 5) ethical standards for security decision makers dealing with climate manipulation technologies; and 6) space arms control.
