Given the uncertainties surrounding the future direction of the Trump administration’s foreign policy, this commentary encourages Japan to deepen its economic, strategic and defense cooperation with India. While some critics question the latter's commitment to the Asia-Pacific region, this text’s author argues that a bilateral partnership between Tokyo and New Delhi would provide a welcome counterbalance to China’s growing power.
