This publication provides an overview of China’s Strategic Support Force (SSF), which centralizes most of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) space-, cyber-, and electronic warfare capabilities. More specifically, it 1) analyzes the PLA’s 2015 military reform through which the SSF was created, 2) outlines the SSF’s organizational structure and operational responsibilities, 3) compares US and Chinese approaches to information warfare, and more.
