As the title suggests, this publication looks at the development of Ethiopian-Sudanese relations. Key findings include 1) that the Cold War both shaped and was itself shaped by the conflicts within and between the two countries; 2) following the end of the Cold War, Ethiopian-Sudanese ties improved considerably; and 3) the recent emergence of new governments in Ethiopia and Sudan does not mean that cordial relations will continue into the future as on-going political reforms, internal threats and external influences weigh heavily on both countries.
