This piece discusses North Korea’s command and control (C2) capabilities, particularly in the case of preventing the accidental or unauthorized use of nuclear weapons. As the text’s author sees it, it’s unlikely that Pyongyang has a sophisticated C2 system in place, despite the instabilities and risks that it poses. This probability then leads to an obvious question – should the US share appropriate C2 technologies with North Korea, or is China a better candidate?
