In light of America’s recent withdrawal from the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), this commentary considers whether the remaining 11 members should either adjust or abandon the historic agreement. While states with existing bilateral foreign trade agreements with the US stand to gain from a newly constituted TPP11, those that had previously hoped to establish privileged US trading relations would see significant reductions in their estimated GDP gains. Nevertheless, the text’s authors conclude that an adjusted TTP agreement remains a viable and lucrative course of action.
