What would it take for Bernie Sanders to be elected US president in November 2020? What would this mean for the world? This article argues that Bernie Sanders is proposing new approaches to current problems in the US. However, this will only have an impact on the election if Americans think that they have hit a point where they need to take a chance on new ideas. The text’s author also contends that if Sanders is elected, US exceptionalism will continue, but Washington will also start to open up to new ideas and evidence-based policy regarding global problems.
